Ultimate Garlic Peeling Hack

Garlic is the holy grail of Italian cuisine. I can confidently say that there isn’t one savory recipe that I make without using this Italian staple. Garlic is a phenomenal way to add flavor to a dish without resorting to ingredients like butter or salt. Not to mention, it’s a nutritional powerhouse. Raw or semi-cooked garlic contains high levels of vitamins as well as antioxidants which have been shown to regulate blood pressure and blood sugar levels as well as lower bad cholesterol.

The downside to cooking with so much garlic, is having to peel it. No one enjoys having to painstakingly peel the paper thin skin and not to mention being left with “garlic fingers.” Here is the ultimate garlic peeling hack that is sure to change the way you view the chore of peeling cloves. This does work best with larger cloves, but works for smaller ones as well-they may just need an extra shake.\

METHOD

Place however many cloves (i’ve done an entire head, cloves separated) you need peeled into a mason jar or any type of container that’s made of hard material (glass or metal work best.) Close the lid. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. That’s all there is to it! You’re welcome ;-)

I love using mason jars for just about everything from storing grains, soups, overnight oats, leftovers, or even to put freshly picked flowers in. They’re especially useful for my garlic peeling hack too!
